Acting is his Heart's Calling

While many professionals get slowed down amidst the dreary schedules of their work life, this Dehradun-based educationist refuses to be bogged down by his demanding vocation! Meet Kunal Shamshere Malla, managing director of a reputed city public school, who has given wings to his acting dreams at the age of 40.

Kunal, who is also an accomplished singer, has acted in two Bollywood Films so far, Say Yes to Love (2011), and Maazii (2013). Next up, he is all set to don the character of the lead antagonist in Jaat in Mood(JIM), which also features former winner of reality shows MTV Roadies and Big Boss, Ashutosh Kaushik. Besides his two films, the passionate actor has also appeared in the pilot of an upcoming televison series Andhera (2013)

It all began when the production unit of Say Yes To Love directed by Marukh Mirza) chose my school campus for shooting their film. they offered me the role of a school principal and I said why not. That's when I realized I had a talented actor hidden within me," chirps Kunal who idolizes superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

While his film debut happened accidentally, Kunal got an opportunity to share screen space with noted actor Pankaj tripathi in his next film Maazii (produced by Jaideep Chopra) wherein he played a cop.

Now the upcominga ctor is gearing up for his feat in JIM (directed by SR Mukesh) that will be widely shot in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh this year end. Kunal, who is also a black-belt holder in Karate, is all set to dazzle the screen with some power-packed action sequences.

I play the lead villain who's seeking revenge from a Jaat. the audience will get to enjoy not just my acting skills bit also some terrific action sequences," beams the talented actor who is also an ardent automobile/bike aficiondo and credits his wife for being his pillar of support.

Maazi - Film shot in Dehradun Releases

A much hyped movie that was shot extensively in Dehradun and Mussoorie, released on Friday Much to the excitement of Doonites, many of whom feature in the film.

Though the film has no big names to boast of, the storyline has an intensity and profundity that makes it a must see states Jaideep Chopra, speaking over the phone from Mumbai. The film features six eminent artists who have proven their skills and now provide the essence to my film that makes them the siz pillars. They are Pankaj Tripathi, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhary, Mukesh Rishi and Zeeshan.

Many local and upcoming actors feature in the film, such as Kunal S Malla, Raman Singh Rawat, Shubham Sharma, Shaurya Dubey and Pooja Bisht.
